Description ~ Cardigan Edges Made Easy
Ever notice how your eye goes right to the button-band on a cardigan? And if it is not perfect, that's all you can see? No matter how gorgeous a sweater is, no matter how wonderful the knitter fabric, a poorly applied cardigan button-band can ruin the whole effect!
Materials Needed ~ Cardigan Edges Made Easy
Bring two colors--1 ball each-- of DK or worsted weight yarn, two different kind of buttons (two of each is fine!) with holes large enough to sew with a thin strand of yarn and a small tapestry needle that will fit through the holes of your buttons.
Homework ~ Cardigan Edges Made Easy
Knit two narrow swatches with the same yarn-approx. 4" wide by 8" long. Use a textured pattern of your choice and make a fabric that feels good, one that would work for a cardigan sweater! Bring the same yarn and smaller needles (1 and 2 sizes smaller than used for your swatch) to work on testing cardigan edges.
